Swing Coach and Trainer
In addition to his coaching, business and consulting activities, Charles is a 2 time RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship Finalist. Motivated by a debilitating injury to his hands, he developed a golf training program that dramatically increases hand speed, dexterity, strength, consistency, competitive focus and routine. Whether you are working on the fine details of the short game or the speed, power and control off of the tee box, Charles ' unique and efficient method of instruction will help you to reach your goals.
As a long drive competitor Kallassy has hit numerous shots over 370 yards in sanctioned long drive competitions (flat grid 40 to 50 yards wide), with his best of 397 yards at sea level.
In a sport with many of the athletes more typically the size of NBA power forwards and NFL linemen, Kallassy, stands just 5’ 10” and weighs in at an 170 pounds. So where does this 50 year old's power come from? Kallassy says, “There is not one ‘tip’ that will make someone increase their controlled clubhead speed to over 130 mph overnight (the average golfer swings the driver at 90 mph - the average PGA tour player at 115 mph). It takes a lot of hard work to develop fundamentally sound mechanics and patterned movement that will hold up under competitive pressure. My programs focus on conditioning the athlete technically, physically and mentally. When you train with me you develop a 'concrete wall' of skill, reflex, routine and confidence.
I develop programs tailored specifically to the players goal, schedule and current abilities. I strive to understand each players unique 'language of movement', and develop drills and technique that are effiicient, effective and easily implemented. Whether they are 16 or 76, the results speak for themselves.”
In addition to his work with amateur and professional athletes, Kallassy volunteers his time at The Equest Therapeutic Horsemanship Center and as a coach of Special Olympians. He is also a licensed private pilot, avid sportsman, and a devoted husband and father.
Charles currently coaches tour players and top long driver competitors on the physical, mental and technical aspects of the golf swing and developing routine. Kallassy has improved the games of thousands of men and women - from beginners to tour professionals and has taught clinics and workshops to men, woman and juniors throughout the United States. "I have worked extensively with Charles on all aspects of my game. I have seen him work with many golfers, of all skill levels. I have been in the game for over 40 years and he is absolutely one of the most effecient and effective instructors that I have ever seen. His sessions are unique for their lack of mechanical "jargon" relying more on clear images, descriptions and physical patterning. which students of every skill level and background can relate to.
Physical fitness has become an important facet of good golf. Because of his years of experience in the area of physical conditioning of others as well as himself, Charles is able to blend fitness and strength training into each student's program for maximum results in the minimum amount of time.
He has an eye for efficient body motion that is second to none and he has an equally keen sense of how the mind "moves". This is invaluable when working with tour players and competitive athletes who peform at the highest levels. It is a unique combination of teaching skills which few posess."
